A group of senior students went to Tai Poutini to participate in a three day Barista course. Learning all about the art of making coffee.
Through Gateway and Star programmes at Westland High School students get opportunities to gain experience in many different industries. This group of students participated in the Barista course within the Hospitality industry.
On the 25th to the 27th of June ten students from Westland High school went on a Barista course up in Greymouth at Tai Poutini Polytechnic. The Barista course is where you learn the art of espresso and also how to make a range of different kinds of coffees from the double shot espresso that had to be made in under 25 seconds, to cappuccino, latte and mochaccino.
