WHS students Show Jumping
Three of our students competed at the 40th Labour Weekend Show Jumping event.
Three Westland High School students had a great weekend at the 40th Labour Weekend Show Jumping event in Canterbury. Two days of jumping, hundreds of horses and riders from all around the South Island and jumps ranging from 70cm to 1.4m high!
Hugo Anderson on Zoe horse, Jessie Smith on Tilly and Esther Birchfield on Luke.
The competition was awesome with some classes having over 100 entrants! The horses spend their days in yards, and a big part of every day is walking the horses, feeding and preparing them for each jumping class.
The WHS students did really well, hugely supported by Greymouth Pony Club coach Penny Jones.
