Giving back to Westland
This term we were visited by some talented young Westlanders.
The Made of Gold luminaries made a visit to Westland High School on the 17th June as part of their new mentoring initiative that matches high-potential West Coast tamariki with successful and talented luminaries who have a strong commitment to the Coast.
Three amazing luminaries, Rosie Kelly , who made her international rugby debut for the Black Ferns in 2023, Katie Thompson, an alternative country singer/songwriter who is known both nationally and internationally (and who has just launched her new West Coast song called Made of Gold), and para-athlete Holly Robinson MNZM shared their personal journeys to success with the students and explained to the students their desire to give back to the young people of this region.
If you think you or someone you know has got potential and could benefit from some one-on-one guidance , then check out the link below. Applications are open to all young West Coasters, with interests in any field, around the ages of 13-17.
