2025 International Students

2025 is off to a busy start in the International Department! This term we have 10 international students attending Westland High School. Here there are all pictured with their WHS buddies.
Our 2024 international students Richard, Grete and Meggy from Germany have been joined this term by their compatriots, Jonna, Johanna and Moritz who will all stay for two terms at Westland High School.
We also welcome four students from Italy who have come to spend Term 1 and 2 studying at Westland High School and playing rugby. Davide, Dante, Diego and Andrea come as part of the charity In Viaggio con Fede who sponsor young rugby players to experience rugby in New Zealand and to carry the memory of their young friend, Fede who had the dream to play rugby in New Zealand.
All of our students have a buddy for the first few weeks to help them find their way around the school and introduce them to teachers and other students.
We would like to say a big thank you to Jacob Tito, Alexander Sever, Kingston Fanselow, Rishjarn Hereaka, Taylor van der Valt, Alanna Nicholls, Yvette Butcon and Lukas Drnasin for volunteering to be buddies.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to our wonderful host families: Nida and Dicey Davidson, Karren McNee, Monica Hulme and Ino Kelderman, Stacey & Richard Brock, Phillip and Rosalie O’Reilly, Marion Krijnen, Siobhan & Christopher O’Malley, Marie Dobson, Sharon & Tony McNish and Laura and Zak Neale.
We’re looking forward to all of the adventures that await these students and if you can make it to a rugby game on the weekends to see our Italian boys in action, that would be wonderful!
