Junk 2 Funk

Some of our Bilingual/JTereo class students had some fantastic success at the local Junk 2 Funk awards.

A few of the Bilingual class/ JTereo students had been working hard on creations for the local Junk 2 Funk competition last term.

The opening night and judging took place on October the 1st and saw some of the classes contributors achieve really well in the Teen section.

  • 1st Place - Harmony and Piata with 'Dancing through hoops'
  • 3rd Place - Melah and Melita with 'Te Ao/The World'
  • Highly Commended - Paewhetu with 'Bubble Tux'

Congratulations to you all, each of the pieces are inspiring. We urge everyone to go and view the entire exhibition.

This can be viewed, along with the background to each piece that the students have written,  until the end of October at the Hokitika Heritage Park - WEDNESDAYS AND SATURDAYS between 10-3pm with a koha/donation to the Park upon entry.
