Meet Our International Students and Support a Special Charity: In Viaggio con Fede.
Introducing Meggy, Alicia, Annikki, and our Italian students from In Viaggio con Fede charity. They are here to learn and experience all that the West Coast has to offer.
We are excited to have students from different countries joining us again this year at Westland High School. Meggy and Alicia, both from Germany, will be staying with us for different periods, while Annikki from Switzerland had a great summer in New Zealand and will be stay here in Hokitika for another term.
Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome four Italian students, Gabriele, Federico, Tommaso, and Giorgio as part of the In Viaggio con Fede programme. https://inviaggioconfede.com/ This programme, formed in memory of a beloved son, allows these students to fulfill Fede's dream of studying and playing rugby in Hokitika.
The In Viaggio con Fede programme promotes generosity, support, and kindness. It aims to assist Fede's friends, teammates, and schoolmates, as well as children facing difficulties or displaying academic, sporting, or altruistic merits. Rugby is a significant component of the boys' programme, and they will be coached by Mr. Michael Waller.
The charity's symbol, a sun, was chosen to represent Fede. It reflects his blonde hair and the light he brought to others. Keep an eye out for these boys on the West Coast rugby fields!
