Students compete in South Westland Triathlon

The South Westland Triathlon was well attended this year with Westland High School students. It's great to see so many of our students involved in these events.

On Saturday 6th April, groups of WHS kids set out to compete in the South Westland Triathlon, which begins in Franz Josef and ends in the Whataroa Domain. 

Competitors could choose to compete either as an individual or in a team in the run/bike duathlon, or the triathlon (for which you could swim or kayak). 

Lots of WHS students showed up on the beautiful sunny day and took out spots on the podiums for their divisions. Plenty of spot prizes were also handed out after a massive table of kai and a lie-about in the sun.
