Au revoir to our students from Avignon, France
Each year in Term 2 we welcome 6 students from Lycee Louis Pasteur a Avignon in France.
This year we welcomed Matteo, Charles, Paul, Juliette, Gabriel, and Anais.
The students stayed for the whole term at Westland High School and enjoyed the warm hospitality of our local host families. We would like to say a very big thank you to Marie Dobson, Karren McNee, Pete Thomas & Sandri Jonker, Sharon & Tony McNish, Katrina & Steve Thornley, and Hilke Bruns & Rory McDougall.
Their schedule was busy and included a trip to Franz Josef, Okarito, Punakaiki, Queenstown and Christchurch as well as school activities, such as the cross country and the Level 2 Outdoor Education tramp which was noted as a highlight.
This wonderful initiative not only benefits our international students but also provides a great opportunity for their buddies to learn about a different culture while helping them integrate into our school and community. It's a fantastic way to promote diversity, foster friendships, and create a more inclusive environment for everyone involved. Let's continue to embrace these cultural exchanges and celebrate the beauty of diversity together!
