Te Whare Atawhai raise funds for Christmas

Our Learning support students and staff have been busy fundraising to help spread the cheer to all young people on the West Coast.

Te Whare Atawhai/Learning Support students and staff have been running a fundraiser selling Pohutukawa seedlings. Prices ranged from $5-10, and all proceeds go to the WHS Christmas Toy Drive (Foster Hope). So far they have raised approx $500.00. They have then used this to go and spend in our local Hokitika businesses on Christmas presents for young people in foster care on the West Coast.

These presents will be added to the Christmas gift donations that we have received, under the tree, from students and whanau.

Thank you to Mike Thomson our Groundsman and his student helpers for propagating and donating the seedlings.

We are also thankful for all of the support from the community, students and staff who have supported this cause. There is still time if you also would like to donate. Toys will be delivered on the 8th of December.
