Term 1 in Te Whare Atawhai
Our Learning Support students in Te Whare Atawhai and beyond have had a great start to the year.
Our Learning Support students in Te Whare Atawhai and beyond have had a great start to the year, and are really embodying what we call Mana Atawhai - the spirit and influence of kindness.
Some have been honing their barista skills and treating our hardworking staff with the results, others have been getting outdoors for some beautiful rides at RDA and giving back to their RDA community by volunteering there each week.
Meanwhile, our dedicated Kai Club volunteers along with the amazing Rebecca Ryan have been feeding lots of hungry mouths each day, and lots of students over the term have pitched in to keep our local Lazar Park veggie gardens productive and beautiful for our local community.
Thanks go out to all of our community members that have made food and financial donations, crafted tables, volunteered their time and trailers, and show up for free kai and connection in TWA. We can feel the momentum of Atawhai growing!
Next term we begin focusing on our long anticipated Sensory Garden, so get in touch if you have time or recycled materials you’d like to invest! We hope everyone has a lovely school holiday and we’ll see you in term 2.
