West Coast Science Photography Competition
Congratulations Makayla Potgieter, who won the competition!
In Term Four, the West Coast Science Educators ran a Science photography competition to celebrate biodiversity in Tai Poutini. Makayla Potgieter took this opportunity to photograph the ecosystems and biodiversity present at Wadeson Island after the amazing work done there by various local groups.
The West Coast Science Educators judging panel voted Makayla as the top entry, and she won the $30 prize money. Some of the feedback on her work included that it had "a really peaceful vibe in all the pictures..." and it was "[n]ice to see them using some scientific conventions in how they name some of the species too."Congratulations to Makayla for taking this opportunity and for winning the inaugural Science Photography competition.
