Westland High School Chess Club success

The Chess Club recently travelled to Greymouth for the Chess Power regional tournament.

Our intermediate and senior teams competed against other local schools in a seven-round rapid time control tournament. Both teams represented Westland High School really well. 

The intermediate team came third behind Grey Main and Karoro, while the senior team came second behind Greymouth High School. Noah and Greta both had superb individual performances, coming third in their respective divisions. 

Finally, a big shout-out to Lucas who slayed Greymouth's top player in their individual match.
