Westland High School Matariki festival

The weather held off for everyone to have a wonderful night.

The Bilingual class from Years 7 to 13, under the esteemed tutelage of Whaea C (Mrs Weepu), created another fantastic Matariki festival for the community to enjoy. There were stalls, performances, art, crafts and plenty of food.

The class had been busy preparing, organising and creating decorations to ensure the community had a cosy atmosphere to come together and celebrate Matariki.

Many not for profit organisations were in attendance fundraising for different events and many of the decorations created by the class have been loaned to the Town's 'Puanga - Matariki' festival and are helping to create a lovely atmosphere in the Pakiwaitara building.

Thank you to all the organisations who helped to contribute to the evening and all the individuals who provided support in many ways.

The school looks forward to building on the event for the coming year.

The J Te reo class have been busy refelecting on the event and have written some recounts of their experience.
